It is necessary to note that Milestone has had an excellent summer and is clearly a well-coached team on the ascent. They will certainly be a team to be reckoned with in the coming years. We congratulate them on their season.
Quadruple winners were: Erin Gannon, Mattie Grant, Seth Gulas, Libby Klinger, Will Mallory, Miranda Menk, Taylor Smith, Kyle Talmage, and Helen Wasz.
Triple winners were: Curran Henry, Baddy Addy Klinger, Lucas Pienkowski, Will Roberts, Ben Schubert, Ted Schubert, Hill Sewell, Melissa Talmage, Kyle Tyson, and Bender Vaught.
An unusually high number of final meet championship meet qualifiers were: Maxl Cook, Jacob Davis, Claire Grant, Nick Gulas, Jimmy James Foley, Tyler Pimblett, and Jonathan Waller.
Seth Gulas broke the team record in junior boys’ 50 free. Seth is the youngest swimmer in our team’s history to swim 50 meters in under 30 seconds. Will Mallory broke the team record in senior boys’ 50 breast. Will now holds ALL of the senior boys’ team records. Ted Schubert broke the team records in intermediate boys’ 100 IM, 100 back, and 100 fly. His times in the IM and fly broke records held by Scott Feeley, who is now a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and serving our country as a Navy SEAL.
And on the topic of the military… we also want to thank Milestone for spearheading the Flat Daddies campaign. The two teams collected enough money to buy 12 Flat Daddies. Perhaps no one in our country is more worthy of our support than the kids of our servicemen and women who are forced to sacrifice time with their parents in order for all of us to enjoy the security and benefits of living in a free society. Thanks to folks from both teams who were so generous in this endeavor.

Thanks to everyone for patience during the thunder delay, and thanks to Becky Sewell for representing our team in the “Thunder Room”.
I have a pair of small, gray Jessica Simpson shoes that I picked up on the way out during the storm, and Tim says that they are not his. If they’re yours, let me know. I also found a red bag with 6 video game cartridges (or whatever they’re called these days.) Let me know if they’re yours. We also had one Kindle go missing from our team area. If you know anything about its whereabouts, please pass that info along to me also.
A reminder that the team picture will be tomorrow at 10:00. Individual pictures can be taken during both the 9:00 and 10:00 practices.
Also– a reminder that next week’s meet against Milestone will be on TUESDAY, JULY 19.

Ashcreek Results
Ashland defeated Ashcreek 1399.5-1013.5. The breakdown by division was:
Novice: Ashland 726.5, Ashcreek 362.5
Advanced: Ashland 298, Ashcreek 209
Junior Varsity: Ashland 160, Ashcreek 130
Varsity: Ashland 142, Ashcreek 139
Senior Varsity: Ashcreek 173, Ashland 73
While the bulk of the margin was in the novice division, this division does not account for the entire difference. Additionally, when the novice division accounts for much of the difference, a key reason is often because one team had many more swimmers than the other. This was not the case at this meet- in fact, Ashcreek actually entered 9 more swimmers than Ashland.
Triple winners were: Joseph Boyle, Julia Chambers, Mattie Grant, Seth Gulas, Quinny Kinser, Thomas Perkins Meadey Reihl, Samantha Senfield, Taylor Smith, Kyle Talmage, Robbie Talmage, and Elisa Worrell.
In meets where the relays are cancelled at the end of the meet, the mite relay is also not scored. So there were officially no quadruple winners. Technically, however, including this event that was swum but not scored, Samantha Senfield won four events, and Baddy Addy Klinger, Emmeline Roberts, and Ben Williams won three events.
New championship meet qualifiers were Shea Shea Burch and Nolan Rohr.
Elisa Worrell broke the team record in senior girls’ 100 fly. An Ashcreek senior boy broke a pool record.
We’ll have regular practice on Thursday, beginning in a few hours. Friday will be an All-Team practice, with the 8 o’clock practice swimming as usual, the 9 o’clock practice swimming for 30 minutes, and the entire team being invited to be at the pool from 9:30-11:00.
